First Blog

So here I am again... trying this "blogging" thing.  Life has slowed down and maybe i now have the time to try something fun (I hope this will be fun).
Us Allison's are always working on something, changing something, doing something, going somewhere - thought, maybe, just maybe someone out in this cyber world might be interested in what we are up too :).

So last spring (June 2010) we bought a boat.  Happened to be "Father's Day" weekend... so happy father's day to Don.  (we don't usually do gifts) but surprise - I bought a boat.  YES off of Kijiji.  Everyone who knows me - i LOVE kijiji.  Thus one of the reasons why things keep changing around here :).  So anyhow we bought this boat.  Older but awesome!!

Last summer we were out on the lake (up north) I
was driving the boat, Jaci was spotting, Don and Jordan were both on a tube each.  I took a corner kinda fast.  You can picture their zooming flight around the boat ... of course - what a blast!! - BUUUUT did you picture Jaci's seat falling right over ... nope didn't think so & yes, popped out of the bottom of the boat.  Now we have a problem... but i am a great "captain"



So this winter we decided that a hole on the floor is not good.  We looked into getting it fixed.  BUT if you know us Allison's - we like to tackle "jobs".  Well we like to START tackling jobs.  We brought it to the hanger (yes airport) in Burlington where we worked on it.  Lap top along side (for instructions), we cut out the rotting wood, put in new marine ply wood, fiber-glassed and carpeted our whole boat.  Now she is all fresh and clean and ready to go for the next 20 years.
Hopefully we will be heading out for a spin after church.  :0)  (stay tuned for photos if we do)
